From October 9th to 21st, awaken your senses in the kitchen at Place des Halles!

This autumn Place des Halles is organising an awareness campaign on the theme of cooking and the five senses during its Taste Week event.

Test your senses to understand their importance in the kitchen, get a souvenir photo on a watermelon swing, attend a “zero waste” cooking workshop and buy delicious produce at our local farmers’ market: we’ve got everything you need to (re)discover the joys of cooking… Activities for all ages to learn the right techniques and habits!

A “Wall of Senses” to test yours!
During this two-week campaign, you are welcome to explore our “Wall of Senses”, installed at Place à la Vie. If you guess correctly what you’re touching/smelling/hearing, you’ll be able to play a game on the spot for a chance to win a €50 gift card!

“Zero waste” cooking workshops with Chef Emmanuel Stemper and a “Sensory course” for children

On Wednesdays and Saturdays (October 11th, 14th, 18th and 21st), Place des Halles is running “zero waste” cooking workshops with Alsatian Chef Emmanuel Stemper to learn how to make a beautiful, simple and tasty recipe while optimising waste to be eco-friendly!

The workshops will take place at the “Restaurant Place des Halles”, specially created for the occasion in the entertainment area, in front of the Armand Thiery boutique, on the 1st floor.

– Sessions for adults will take place between 11 am and 1:30 pm and will last 30 minutes.

– Children will be able to take part in the “Sensory course”, which will last one hour between 2 pm and 6 pm. With the help of a hostess, they’ll collect their gourmet passport from the “Restaurant Place des Halles”, test their senses on the “Wall of Senses”, take part in the cooking workshop, visit the farmers’ market, take a souvenir picture at the watermelon photocall and receive a “Best Little Chef” certificate along with a surprise gift.

Local farmers’ market
On Wednesdays and Saturdays Wednesdays and Saturdays (October 11th, 14th, 18th and 21st), come and discover local produce at the small farmers’ market set up on “Place au Pep’s”: meet with two producers each day, including Ferme de la Ganzau, Alélor and beekeeper Christophe Sigwald!

And last but not least, to round off your culinary visit at Place des Halles, sit back and relax in a “watermelon” setting, and have your photo taken to keep a nice souvenir of all these events! The photocall will be open every day from October 9th to 21st.
